Volume matters as much as weight: the laundry needs room to move in the drum to get evenly clean.
Why not at home?
Most home machines hold 6 to 8 kg. A thick duvet fills the drum completely, water can’t reach everywhere, and the spin cycle puts a lot of strain on the machine. In the XXL washer the duvet has space, and the dryer with its 20 kg drum fluffs it up evenly afterwards.

Tips for bulky items
- Check the care label for temperature and whether the item may go in the dryer.
- Two thick duvets? Better wash them one after the other.
- Give the dryer time: down and thick fillings take longer. Add time in 10-minute steps.
